Links still help search engines decide which sites to trust, but only the right links. Our backlink research and SEO tools services audit, research and earn them the careful way, using automation for the data work and people for every judgment call.
ScrapeBox, GSA and similar tools are powerful at collecting and sorting data. Used carelessly, they create the kind of link spam that Google’s spam policies warn against. We use them for research and monitoring only, and we never promise rankings or a set number of links.

Backlink analysis: what we review
A backlink audit answers three questions: which sites link to you, whether any of those links could be a problem, and where your competitors earn links that you do not.
- Sources: the Links report in Google Search Console, which shows the sites Google has found linking to you, combined with a third-party link index for wider coverage.
- Quality review: a person looks at the linking pages, not just a score. Is the site real and relevant? Is the link editorial, or does it look bought, swapped or automated?
- Problem patterns: sitewide footer links, keyword-stuffed anchor text, link networks, and comment or profile spam, often left over from past SEO work.
- Disavow only when warranted: Google says most sites never need to disavow links. We recommend it only when there is a clear pattern of manipulative links, for example after a manual action.
Competitor research
Competitor research shows which pages attract links in your market and why. It is the starting point for earning links rather than chasing them.
- Link gap: sites that link to up to three competitors but not to you, sorted by relevance.
- Linkable pages: the guides, tools, local resources and data pages that earn competitors’ links, so you can create something more useful.
- Local signals: chambers of commerce, associations, sponsorships and local directories where competitors are listed.
ScrapeBox research, used responsibly
ScrapeBox is a data-collection tool, one of several SEO tools we rely on for research. We use it to speed up research that would otherwise take days by hand, and every list it produces is checked by a person before it is used.
- Keyword and question harvesting: the questions customers type into search, grouped into content ideas.
- Prospect lists: resource pages and broken-link opportunities on relevant sites, found with search footprints.
- Competitor footprints: how competitor pages are structured and where they are mentioned.
- Not used for: automated commenting, posting, account creation or link building of any kind.
GSA and other automation: what we automate, and what we never do
Automated, then reviewed by a person
- Keyword and customer-question harvesting
- Broken-link and resource-page prospect lists
- Competitor link and page research
- Data cleanup: removing duplicates, dead sites and irrelevant prospects
- Rank tracking, index checks and new or lost link alerts
Never done
- Automated link creation, such as GSA Search Engine Ranker campaigns
- Blog comment, forum or profile spam
- Paid links or private blog networks
- Mass contact-form or email blasts
These practices violate Google’s spam policies. If they were used on your site in the past, a Backlink Profile Audit shows what needs attention. Our SEO Automation & Tool Setup service can also set up research and monitoring workflows for your own team, with a written policy on what is automated.
Legitimate link building
Earned links come from giving other sites a reason to mention you. The approaches that work for local and service businesses are rarely glamorous:
- Create something worth linking to: a genuinely useful guide, checklist, calculator or local resource.
- Fix the basics first: accurate Google Business Profile and local citations with a consistent name, phone and website.
- Reach out personally: to resource pages, partners, suppliers, associations and local media where your business is relevant.
- Replace broken links: suggest your page where a relevant site links to one that no longer exists.
- Report every contact: so you can see the work, not just the results.
Reporting you can check
- Audits: a written report with the links reviewed, issues found and recommended actions.
- Research packages: spreadsheets of prospects and keywords, with notes from the person who checked them.
- Outreach: a monthly log of every site contacted, the message sent and the outcome, including links that were not earned.
- Monitoring: new and lost links and index checks, so changes are spotted early.
Backlink research questions
How many links will I get?
We never promise a number. Earned links depend on your industry and what you can offer other sites. You get a report of every site contacted and the outcome.
Will backlinks guarantee better rankings?
No. Links are one of many signals search engines use, alongside content, relevance and technical health. Anyone who guarantees rankings from links is taking risks with your site.
Can you clean up bad links from the past?
Yes. The Backlink Profile Audit flags spam patterns and recommends a disavow only when it is warranted.
Do you use GSA Search Engine Ranker?
Not for building links. Automated link creation is link spam under Google’s policies. We use automation for research, data cleanup and monitoring, and people make every decision about who to contact.
What do I need to provide for a backlink audit?
Access to Google Search Console for your site, plus the names of up to three competitors you would like us to compare against.
Are local citations still worth doing?
Accurate listings help customers and search engines confirm your business details. We focus on relevant directories and data sources and keep your name, phone and website consistent everywhere.
